Episode 94 – The Museum Political Cycle
We say THANK U, NEXT to RBG and do an art world update. Massive layoffs abound, and the Guggenheim buys the banana, can someone good at the economy please help them budget this?? Direct demands for scumbag board members to be removed from museums is great, but doesn’t it feel like these open letters are repeating themselves. How do we break the cycle and organize more effectively? Is it possible given the material conditions of these situations? We’re gonna try not despair and focus on these questions!! Episode 43 – Art and Transparency
A tide is turning in the art and cultural world! We’re sick of the same tired, unproductive conversations, and are finding strength in solidarity with our peers. We discuss the bizarre Artforum panel about “accountability” and are later joined by Michelle Millar Fisher from the new group Art + Museum Transparency (@AMTransparency). She helped create the now viral document allowing museum workers to anonymously share salaries and urge reform in their industry. Episode 18 – Fuck off Paglia
This episode we dive into the criticism surrounding Red Scare and their recent profile in The Cut. Mostly we discuss the ideology shaped by Camille Paglia, an individualist feminist who aligns herself with the alt-right favorite’s dad Jordan Peterson. We try to appeal for lefty media unity, and find some queer relief from the writings of Mary Beard, Ursula K Le Guin, and admitted normie Peter Frase.
